Working with Children

We know children and adolescents have great imaginations and the ability to visualise, therefore children can be more receptive to hypnotherapy which is why it can be a fast and effective way to support yourself or your child to bring about desired change and improve their mental health and well-being.

It is estimated that 1 in 6 children have a mental health need, with this no doubt due to the rise following the covid pandemic. Over the past decade, there has been a growing rise in children and adolescents facing the same struggles with their mental health as that adults. For example, children being diagnosed with depression, anxiety, OCD, and eating challenges at a young age. Furthermore, children facing increased pressure concerning exams, peer pressure, social media, and so much more impacting on their confidence, self-esteem, sleep, performance and motivation, and the creation of negative habits and fears and phobias.

As a hypnotherapist, I can tailor the process to each child and work with you as the parent to enhance the success of the process. Within initial sessions, time is dedicated to getting to know yourself or the child to enhance the effectiveness of the process. As a hypnotherapist, this allows me to effectively tailor the hypnotherapy process to yourself or your child's learning needs and preferences whilst making sessions fun and interactive to enhance learning and engagement to support you or your child to identify the solutions and skills which will help bring about change and growth. Hypnosis itself, can be tailored to meet yourself or your child's needs. For example, hypnosis can be completed during quiet play such as colouring, drawing, or even playing a game.

With the waiting lists for children and adolescent mental health services on the rise, hypnotherapy can be a fast and effective way to support yourself or your child to overcome their mental health needs, feel in control, and bring about change.
